Statement from Éric:

The comfort of play, the search for sonority, the artistic creation, are some of the leitmotifs that guide my work. The musician must be able to consider the bow as the prolongation of his body: this is my goal.

The joy of playing, the exploration of sound, artistic creation: these are among the many leitmotifs that guide my work. The musician should feel as though the bow is an extension of his body. This is what I seek to accomplish.

Passionate about music, lover of noble materials, and always attracted to the manual skills, it is with happiness that I exercise the craft of bow maker. Going back to the source, I worked for several years in France alongside Blaise Emmelin; then in Brussels, in the house of Bernard, for Pierre Guillaume. I also restored many old bows, respecting traditional techniques.

As a lover of music, an admirer of fine materials, I naturally embraced the craft of bowmaker. I worked for several years in France in the company of Blaise Emmelin, and after in Brussels at "Maison Bernard" for Pierrre Guillaume. Here, driven by a respect for traditional bowmaking techniques, I was also trained in the art of bow restoration.

While building on this foundation of respect and knowledge of traditional methods, I like to express my creativity in the service of that of the musician. Based in Montreal, I design violin, viola, cello and contrabass bows.

Inspired by a background of respect and knowledge of traditional bowmaking practices, it gives me great pleasure knowing that my creativity serves the creativity of the musician.
